MICHELE ATKINS MUSICAL THEATRe
Michele first joined the Acting Academy for Kids’s team in 2012. An actor, singer, director and teacher, she brings decades of professional experience and knowledge to young artists. She teaches acting in both private and group settings.
Her love for the Performing Arts started in Musical Theatre. Some of her favorite title roles include; Carousel (Carrie). Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), Fiddler on the Roof (Hodel), Bye Bye Birdie (Patty), Grease (Sandy), HMS Pinafore( Chorus of First Lords sisters), The Nazarene ( Mary) and Oklahoma (Julie).
An accomplished vocalist and lyricist, her music work includes; Music Director for San Clemente, Saddleback Church Children’s Easter Celebration, Principle vocalist for the Singles ministry, vocalist in the Gospel choir as well as music development for weekly Women’s and Children’s Ministries. She’s a recording and performing vocalist who specializes in R&B, Rock and Pop vocals. Her experience got her work with many bands and vocal groups around the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.
Michele holds a BA Degree in Radio, Television and Film, from California State University, Long Beach. Her studies led her to use the techniques of Viola Spolin for improvisation, theatre games and acting development for children and adults alike. Professional Actors Workshops gave her further knowledge to grow in the craft of acting. She learned to use the techniques of Stanford Meisner and Lee Strasberg. Her studies gave her the fundamentals needed to become an authentic working actor. Michele is a member of the Screen Actors Guild/ American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Some of her film and television credits include; Days of our Lives-NBC. General Hospital - ABC, MTV Road Rules- MTV Productions, Teen wolf Too-Atlantic Entertainment Group, The Big Labowski- PolyGram Entertainment.
She enjoys being an Acting Academy for Kids Acting Teacher and Musical Theatre Director. Some of the full length musical theatre productions, Michele has directed, include; Elf, Shrek, Seussical, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Mulan, Willy Wonka, and Into the Woods. She has always had a passion for inspiring young artists in the field she loves most!
