Chrissy OBERMEYER
Voice

Chrissy Obermeyer was born and raised in Southern California and has been singing for over half her life. Through junior high, high school, and college, she sang in various choirs and was highly involved in music ministry at her church as a member of the vocal team as well as a featured soloist. Music has always been a huge part of her life.
She attended Azusa Pacific University and graduated in 2000 with a degree in Liberal Studies with a music emphasis. Throughout her 4 years at APU, she participated in the all women’s choir, Bel Canto, and the renowned University Choir and Orchestra for 3 years. During senior year, she was a vocal section leader and was an active participant in the school of music community. Post graduation, she went on to get her multiple subject teaching credential through APU. During that time, in addition to singing at church, she directed a small ensemble of high school students who were a part of the youth choir at Friends Church in Yorba Linda.
Since college and graduate school, Chrissy has been a part of the Mariners Church vocal ministry for years, in addition to singing around the community with a group she formed with two other vocalists from Mariners Church. This group, named 3 Shades (named after the diverse ethnic background the three singers represent) has been a part of Outreach events at Mariners as well as singing for a Christmas gospel showcase in north Orange County. Teaching elementary school music since 2006, Chrissy has also directed school musicals, school choirs, led worship at church, and has organized numerous vocal teams of students within the music departments of schools she has taught at. She is excited to be a part of the Acting Academy for Kids family since 2013.
